Pion Design - Shabby North Pole Greetings

Hello Everyone!
If you are interested in my Giveaway... CLICK HERE

I am super excited to share with you today, my first Christmas card using the upcoming new Christmas collection from Pion Design called GREETINGS FROM THE NORTH POLE! My mouth was watering as I sifted through all the beautiful patterns and images, I just know you will love it as much as I do!!

As you read this post, I am up north, in my home town, spending some time with the folks. I find it ironic now that I was in such a hurry as a teenager to get out of the country and move to the city. HA! Hindsight and all that, right!! This is my first summer visit in many years, so I will probably be taking a thousand photographs! I wish everyone a great weekend, and I will see you next week!

The small snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch, some of the laces are May Arts, everything else is from my stash.

Thought I would share a few pictures of the little garden in the town square called the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens. It's not a large garden, but there's still lots to see and it's very picturesque and peaceful considering it's right in the heart of downtown.

I believe this is an Annabelle Hydrangea bush. So pretty!

Surrounding this garden is a huge splash pad (that I take full advantage of whenever possible - even though I'm a touch taller than the other humans splashing about!), the square where they hold all of the festivals (last call for all-you-can-eat ribs), and the town hall. You'd never know that though. The trees and bushes are all very cleverly placed, so all you see is flowers and foliage!

Thanks to the very talented Sara Emily of sarascloset, I know now that this is a Hosta.

Possibly some sort of Day Lily? It sure as heckfire is gorgeous isn't it!!

And right above us, this awesome clock tower!

Back on the home front, I had a visit from a female Starling. Love the way she looks like she's wearing a mask! She has quite lovely plumage, many of the females are just a plain sort of grey.

This may be my favourite little baby bird other than the Sparrow. There were two baby Blue Jays sitting in the tree with their mouths open, waiting for Momma to feed them. So cute the way they topple and weeble. LOVE THEM!

Oh SKITTLES, that does not look like a great place to catch a nap!!
Come share the chair with JUNIOR!

PATRICIA trying to escape the sun, even if just for a minute or two.

And how about JUNIOR anyway? Well there is no surprise that he is lying down on the job again, but at least he's eating his veggies. He does love a good carrot.

I have woken JUNIOR from his nap for this shot, I think that face pretty much says it all, don't you!
"WHAT, WHO! WHAT'S HAPPENING? DID I MISS DINNER?"
"OH, IT'S YOU. GOOD GRIEF LADY, YOU SCARED THE BA-JEEBLES OUT OF ME!!"

Last but not least, my token morning coffee shot... straight from a horror movie!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your sweet comments about my little pup Scully loosing her eyesight. All your stories of triumph have given my hope that she can still live a full and happy life! Thanks for your encouragement and support!

Now about my photos, this couldn't have worked out better if I planned it myself. Today I'm going to share some of my 'pot of gold' Lake Ontario beachfront photos from our Rattray Marsh Trail hike last weekend. How about that for a coinkee-dink!

On the other side of the lake you can see Toronto, the city where I used to live. Yep, I lived under that big dome of smog! It's pretty to look at from over here, but this is as close as I ever want to be again.

I was able to capture a wave as it hit the rocks. Cool!

A couple of glam shots because it makes me want to curl up and have a nap in the sun!

Caught these little fellas out on the rocks. My first glimpse of Tern.

MRS DUCK - Thank you so much for identifying all the flowers from the MacEwan Terrace Gardens for me, any chance you can help me with this one? It was about thigh high, white petals.

Back at the home front, I had a visitor from a Blue Jay.

and a couple of Starlings having a kissy kissy session (or feeding)??

BRENDA is making a funny face from up in the tree!

PATRICIA takes a quick break before heading off. All that eating is quite exhausting you know!

MR BAGGINS poses in the sunshine for a quick pic. What a handsome dude!

And how about JUNIOR? Well he's almost full grown now. He's lost that cutsie little round baby face, but he sill manages to make me smile with this lazy ways and sweet poses!

YVONNE - Junior lets me get quite close to him. He's completely comfortable with me moving around outside while he's napping, or even sitting in the chair next to him. He won't let me pet him though... YET! lol

last but not least, my token after dinner shot...
